Tar Heels for a Cure

Rallying the Carolina family to cure an ultra-rare disease

Being a student-athlete at Carolina taught me perseverance, hard work and commitment, lessons I now carry into the fight for my children, Charlotte and Cooper. They are two of only about 20 known patients worldwide living with FAM Disorder.

My Carolina swimming and diving teammates have pledged a $10,000 match, so every gift from the Tar Heel family is doubled, up to $10,000, through Dec 31, 2026. Every dollar supports research led by the FAM177A1 Research Fund.

Once a Tar Heel, always a Tar Heel. Go Heels!
